AUFQ provides a unified voice to represent the interests of spearfishers in Queensland, liaise with members, spearfishing clubs and other spearfishers and assist in organizing state spearfishing competitions.
Purpose of the Commission and member benefits:
- Provide a unified voice to represent the interests of spearfishers in Queensland.
- Liaise with members, spearfishing clubs and other spearfishers on matters affecting the sport
- Develop and promote responsible spearfishing in Queensland.
- Encourage and assist in organising state spearfishing competitions.
- Develop and promote spearfishing interests through partnerships with industry and government, and through education.
- Provide unified and coordinated action by working in concert with the National AUF Spearfishing Commission.

Spearsafe campaign
AUFQ was instrumental in developing and rolling out the “SPEARSAFE” campaign. Information and DVDs were distributed to shops and clubs throughout Queensland.
